Thanks to all who were able to join us! Now is the critical time to talk about Trade as One before people get inundated in the fall with new places to buy holiday gifts for their friends and family. Let's spread the word!!
1. Personalized webpages: If you haven't had us create one for you yet, please do! Your webpage acts as a storefront for the Trade as One online store. It's a great tool to introduce your friends and family to Trade as One while sharing your story about why you are passionate about supporting a business that creates sustainable jobs for people in need! You can view mine at
www.tradeasone.com/krissy. To set one up, just email me a photo to use in our stamp and a short paragraph about why you like Trade as One or are an enthusiastic supporter of fair trade. We'll do the rest! And as our way of thanking you, you'll receive a gift certificate to our online store equal to 5% of your total annual sales at the end of the year!
2. Trade as One Gatherings at Home: This is an informal social event with the purpose of talking about Trade as One, sharing information about our products, and having some fun while shopping! The Trade as One informational DVD is in production now and is scheduled to be released in July. It will have a short section to play during your gathering to explain our story, so you can sit back, relax, and enjoy time with your guests! Cath George will be hosting a home show this week and will share her experience on the Ning site afterwards (
http://tradeasone.ning.com). We have also created a product display kit that we can loan to you (if you can help us out by sponsoring shipping costs we'd appreciate it) so that your guests can see the high quality of our products! To help you on the journey to planning a gathering, checklists and Trade as One brochures will be available for download soon. And to make it even easier to share Trade as One products with guests, consider purchasing coffee, tea, and chocolate to serve as samples at the event! And remember, home gatherings during the summer are a great way to introduce Trade as One to your community before holiday gift sales in the fall.
3. Events: We are in the final stages of setting up several large scale Trade as One boutique events for the fall! Hooray!! We also had a representative present at the Fair Trade Federation conference last weekend in Washington DC. If you are participating in events like conferences, workshops, community gatherings or festivals and can have some Trade as One information on site, we would love to send you materials!
4. Webnewsletter: The next edition is almost ready to go out. Please forward it to anyone in your circle that may be interested in issues of poverty, human trafficking, mission work and of course really beautiful products made in the developing world!
5. Blog buttons: Jessica, one of our newest advocates in Colorado will be creating Trade as One buttons to post on your website or blog! I'll let you know as soon as it's available.
On behalf of the whole Trade as One team, thank you for all that you do!!
