On 2nd April about 600 people attended an event hosted by North Point church in Atlanta that highlighted the issue of human trafficking and child soldiers. Through high quality video, art and narrative, people were exposed to the stories of a handful of the 27m people in slavery today. The final environment of the event was one that celebrtated the hope that exists through organizations that provide routes out of these desperate lives.
Trade as One provided products that people could buy, made by women released from trafficking and commercial sex work in Cambodia and Thailand. The response from customers on the night was amazing.
Over 100 personal cards were written to the women who mad the products. You can see them all at http://www.flickr.com/photos/tradeasone_dojustice/show/
People also sent video messages by You Tube back to the women. You can see them at: http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=nathantao
